Finnjoists, which are BBA appproved and utilise European certified (PEFC) LVL, are factory produced in the UK with a low and uniform moisture content, thereby avoiding the splitting, warping and twisting so common with solid timber joists. FJI joists also virtually eradicate shrinkage and its associated problems, resulting in greater floor performance.

Finnjoist (FJI)

Finnjoists form the heart of the Finnwood Floor System. They are structurally engineered timber joists, also known as I-beams or I-joists, which are manufactured from a high quality OSB web and Kerto (LVL) flanges. Finnjoists are one of the most stable joists available on the market today.

Kerto-S LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber)

Engineered from 3mm rotary peeled laminates, Kerto-S is strong, lightweight, rigid and dimensionally precise. Kerto-S is the perfect choice for beams, achieving long spans with minimal deflection.

Kerto-Q LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber)

Engineered in the same way as Kerto-S but with some cross laid veneers, Kerto-Q is renowned for its dimensional stability and particularly where high compression strength is required. Kerto-Q is ideal for use as a rimboard.

Designed in conjunction with a leading software house, the Finnwood software gives us the advantage when converting your floor plan into the right product and specification. Already designing with the future in mind, the Finnwood software designs floors to incorporate the forthcoming EuroCode5 requirements, ensuring your floors are fit for use in the future - today.

In addition to the Finnwood software, we are able to offer Finnbeam, a single member calculation programme which is available to engineers and specifiers.
