Travel to the South Atlantic, call in at Stanley, the capital of the Falkland Islands, and make your way to the Governor's compound. On the site you will find two houses:

• The Governor's principal residence, currently being refurbished
• The Governor's temporary home, a timber-framed building of some 250 sq metres.

Our involvement here was directly for Aberdeen-based housebuilders Stewart Milne Timber systems. We designed and supplied all of the attic roof trusses and infill timbers.

Our designs, using our own MiTek software, were downloaded to Stewart Milne's Aberdeen base. The roof trusses were then produced and placed in flatpacks for transportation to southern England, from where they were shipped out to the Falklands in containers for assembly on site.
